A 1775 wedding dress

I created this Wedding dress for my king's wedding, but in the end the queen wore another dress... My Sims can take their own decisions. Anyway, I share here the dress, with mesh by faeriegurl included

Music history in the making

1750's ... a bit of history

We are in the time of enlightment and Encyclopedie was published during this era. Encyclopédie, ou dictionnaire raisonné des sciences, des arts et des métiers (Encyclopaedia, or a Systematic Dictionary of the Sciences, Arts, and Crafts) was a general encyclopedia published in France between 1751 and 1772, with later supplements, revised editions, and translations. It had many writers, known as the Encyclopédistes. It was edited by Denis Diderot and, until 1759, co-edited by Jean le Rond d'Alembert.(wikipedia)

But it was also the time to take arts a bit lighter. It's the rococo that brought light colours and textures.

Melodic 1720's

The modern piano (the pianoforte) was developed from the harpsichord around 1720, by Bartolomeo Cristofori of Padua, Italy. His new instrument had a delicate pianissimo (very soft sound), a strong fortissimo (a very loud, forceful sound), and every level in between.
The first upright piano was made around 1780 by Johann Schmidt of Salzburg, Austria. Thomas Loud of London developed an upright piano whose strings ran diagonally (in 1802), saving even more space.

Women in the pirates world

There were two women in the pirates world of 1700's. Mary Read, a tomboy who fell in love with a soldier and after his death took a ship to India. On the way the ship was attacked by pirates and she joined them. In 1720, Mary took king's pardon and sailed to Jamaica with the other one lady pirate, Anne Bonny. Anne had a fiery personality and left her family home early in her teens to become a pirate. Later she became lovers with John Rackham, another pirate and together they continued to steal. She was sentenced to death in Jamaica, but there is no record that the execution happened, because she was pregnant.
In my Sims world, the tomboy of the Guille family became a famous pirate, but she was never captures, or fell in love. At least with anything else than her treasure!

Nun gone wild

Guille family had too many daughters. They married off some but they wanted to add some credits to their family name, and there was one way to do so. They forced the youngest girl, Brunhilde, to become a nun. Not a good choice at all, since Brunhilde was a bright and flirty girl that wanted no rules. Soon she got bored in the monastery and when she learnt that there was a monastery for men nearby, she found the way to visit them at night, just in her underwear, pretending to be a ghost. They never caught her because she was fast too, even though everybody suspected who she was.

The woman who was loved by three ranks

Jossiane 's life was filled with three different lovers, two of them were more than inapropriate. In her late teens, she was loved by a monk, and believing that this was the right to do, she slept with him. Then she was forced to marry a peasant who in the end fell for her. Saddly, his poor health cost him his life, leaving alone and pregnant young Jossiane.
That baby was never born, as she miscarried and Jossiane had to start a new life. She found a job as a baker at lord Raye Castan. His story was just as sad ,as the previous year, lord Raye's wife died as she was giving birth. With no wife or child, Raye soon was lost in his world. The same world of sadness where Jossiane lived.
Through mutual understanding they came closer and fell deeply in love. Later in their life, they had a son together, Allen Milagros Biggs.
